The Hype features Keenan Pascal Co-Founder of Token Bitters 

Token Bitters are handcrafted artisanal aromatic bitters, inspired by and made in the city they call home: Edmonton. Bitters add a layer of flavour complexity to cocktails, mocktails, coffee and more. 

In 2016 a chemical engineer, bar-owner, and bartender brought their heads and hearts together and created Edmonton’s first local bitters company to complement the newly flourishing Alberta craft distillery community. 

Albertans were enjoying a growing number of locally produced spirits, and Token saw a unique opportunity to marry them with local bitters made from organic ingredients sourced from Alberta farms. 

The bitters use organic ingredients sourced from local farmers and businesses and are then hand-made and bottled without chemicals or preservatives at the Hansen Distillery. While most of the bitters are made with plants grown fresh in Alberta, on occasion Token will reach out of province for fruits that struggle to grow in our northern climate.  

Each of Token’s products are named after beloved Edmonton neighbourhoods and streets. With options such as Strathcona Orange, Whyte Lavender, Ritchie Cherry and Meadowlark Mocha. Token’s love of Edmonton was reflected by the community on to their business. People started to really enjoy the flavours, and with support from Edmonton’s business community, restaurants, and bar scene Token has had the opportunity to grow their brand and have their bitters spread not only across the Edmonton but Canada and Japan as well.
