The Hype features Tony Phung, founder of YEG Coffee Can.

The YEG Coffee Can is a 15-foot mobile cafe, which serves a rotating cast of locally roasted coffees. This retail coffee shop is a fully sustainable and recyclable shop inside a sea-can.

The idea was inspired by Tony’s travels, seeing similar ideas implemented in other cities. His vision for the sea-can was to sell coffee from local roasters, alongside implementing pay-it-forward initiatives that help get clean water systems for emergency response situations and whoever else may be in need.

The coffee can is mobile, and parks throughout Edmonton’s downtown core. This allows for a fun, easily accessible place for Edmontonians to enjoy a cup of craft coffee on the go. They rotate through local Edmonton roasters which helps promote them, and provides customers a with new coffee experience regularly.

Unfortunately YEG Coffee Can recently had their sea-can broken into, leaving 5 individuals out of work for the summer. If you are able to donate to help fund some items that are vital to its operation. Please do so here.
